Box Assignment

This was one of my least favorite projects. It was difficult and time consuming. It was a lot harder than I had imagined which taught me that brush strokes and color mixing is a very important aspect of a composition. I believe that I did a pretty good job of remaking this painting but the proportions aren’t quite the same.

Seven Letter Word

I chose the word “Pizzazz”. I tried to use vibrant colors and illustrate movement and energy. Many people in the class thought the painting matched the word because it reminded them of confetti and kids splattering paint.

Sound Map

For this project I sat outside on the stairs. I heard everything from a hammer, cars driving by, birds chirping to guys talking, skateboards riding by and so on. I thought this project was tricky because it is tough to illustrate sounds.

Jack and Jill

I enjoyed working on a group project with Paula and Rachael! Although this piece took a while to come up with the overall composition, I really like the final product! We all assigned ourselves images to work with, I had the canteens and the empire, rachael had the suns and the crown, then Paula had the animals (jack and Jill) and did the awesome writing.

Texture

For the texture assignment I used a tree, concrete sidewalk, leaves, the concrete block walls, and the textured windows on the classroom doors. I thought it was hard to come up with a good composition for this project.

I love taking pictures of my friends. Even though I took this in my dorm room (worst lighting ever) it turned out pretty good!
